As the editor of Finance and Commerce daily business newspaper, I have worked with Mary Lower and Sterling Cross Communications on a number of projects, including various story ideas and columns that she has pitched to the paper. Mary stands out in a couple of ways. First, she is persistent, but in a polite way. She will pester me about story ideas until I either refuse them or assign them to reporters. She is gracious if I reject her proposals, but she always perseveres until I give her an answer one way or another. She is also reliable and honest.
