“Hopeful to Hired” - Mentoring Students to Succeed in Real World Job Market in 200 Pages

Twin Cities author Adam Dince to launch book of advice and resources to guide college students and graduates in the soft skills and online networking they now need to get hired.

St. Paul, MN – November 3, 2016 – Adam Dince’s life was changed because of mentors. A high school dropout, Dince succeeded in the Navy and thrived in college because of a drill sergeant and professor that challenged him in ways he’d never experienced in his live. To give back, Dince now mentors college students providing education not taught in the classroom. On November 14, 2016 he will launch his book “Hopeful to Hired: How to Score the Job You Want Straight Out of College” to provide a step by step manual on how to build a professional network, how to create and grow a dynamic online presence and what hard and soft skills are needed to navigate and succeed in today’s competitive job market.

Bert Dince, Adam’s father, was Dince’s first mentor and the motivation behind a scholarship Dince will launch on November 5, 2016.  Dince will provide a percentage of book sales as well as well as a self-funded cash allotment to provide financial footing to the selected recipient as he/she juggles student loan payment coupled with preparation and execution of a job search. Statistically, 12% of soon to be graduates have a job lined up. Only 20% of students feel prepared to join the work force. With increasing concerns over mounting student debt and economic uncertainty, “Hopeful to Hired” gives students stress relief and parents peace of mind by outlining a clear path to job seeking success.

“Adam Dince has written an exceptionally valuable 21st Century handbook for students. Filled with important insights and solid practical advice, Hopeful to Hired: How to Score the Job You Want Straight Out of College is the book I want my students to read well before their final year of college. Students who follow Dince’s suggestions will be far better candidates for their first job after graduation.”

- Dorothy S. Pisarski, Associate Professor, Advertising, Drake University
